When Apple announced the iPhone SE with an A13 Bionic processor, many cheered. This is because, in theory, the company presented a “cheap” device, with a compact body and performance comparable to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
However, it appears that this is not the case. That’s because, despite bringing the most current processor in Apple’s portfolio, the new entry-level iPhone outperforms its older siblings.
According to a test carried out on the AnTuTu platform, the new iPhone SE earned less than 500,000. See in the form the result achieved by the variant with 256 GB of internal storage:
Taking into account the result achieved on the reference platform, we can say that the iPhone SE’s CPU and GPU have almost the same performance as the iPhone XS and XS Max devices, that is, 2018.
The only thing that keeps the new cheap next to the 2019 devices is the optimization of the RAM, since the score is higher than that achieved by the iPhone XS. See an AnTuTu ranking where even iPhone 11 scored over 500,000 points:
