Cruzeiro hired the services of a babalorixá, better known as pai de santo, to escape the decline in 2019. In addition to failing to achieve the goal, the club also did not comply with what was agreed and the R $ 10,000 agreed for the service, only paid R $ 6,000.

According to the Uol portal, Reginaldo Muller Pádua, provided the service to Zezé Perrella, who authorized the payment of the service with the club’s money. It was agreed that the work would be paid in installments and the club deposited it three times in the Babalorixá account. Zezé Perrella denied contact with the saint’s father, but Benecy Queiroz, the club’s superintendent, merely confirmed that the work done was religious in nature.

The first deposit is on October 16, the day Cruzeiro beat São Paulo by 1 to 0. The amount of the deposit was R $ 2,500 and was made through the accounts of Caixa Econômica Federal.

Between the first deposit and the last (third), Cruzeiro transferred R $ 6,000. Interestingly, the period between October 16 and November 28 was the best for Raposa in terms of results in the Brazilian. There were three wins, five draws, and two losses. The team went eight games without losing.

Another curiosity is that on the day of the last deposit, on November 28, Cruzeiro lost to CSA, at night, 1-0, and was complicating himself in the fight against the fall. Since then, there have been no further payments to Reginaldo Muller Pádua.
