The São Paulo Football Federation decided, in a meeting with the 16 participating clubs, that it will maintain the achievement of the Paulistão Femenina for 2020, but it unanimously chose to annul the old regulation and its table. Therefore, it will appoint a new Technical Council to define the format of the state.

The Paulistão Femenina should have started on April 12, but it has not been done so far. The competition was scheduled to end in August. All the clubs participated in the virtual meeting and, for the moment, there were no signs of withdrawal from any of the entities.

Initially, the competition would be played in an all-format, with six playoff games (from quarterfinals to final, all roundtrip). With the table and regulation canceled before the start, there is still no consensus on the new format.

The Federation has not yet informed when the new Technical Council will take place, but it already considers it necessary to hold the games without the presence of an audience. There is a plan to create a meeting agenda to improve communication with the clubs.

See the points highlighted by the São Paulo Football Federation about the meeting with the clubs:

  • Regarding fans, business and media partners, the Paulistão Feminino 2020 will be held this year, in accordance with the deadlines and protocols recommended by the health authorities.
