The possibility of the Central Market closing on the same day is also discussed. The measure, which may be extended to other Sundays, is due to the advance of the covid-19 pandemic.
Belo Horizonte has only been operational since March 6. On Wednesday (17), Onda Roxa, part of the Minas Gerais government program, imposed even more severe restrictions, such as a curfew.
The capital of Minas Gerais reached a total occupancy (complementary network + SUS) of 107.3% of the bed occupancy in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and there is a waiting list. The 819 intensive care places in the city for those suffering from the disease are occupied and there are no beds for 60 patients.
The occupancy of the rooms is 87.9%, in the red level indicator. The RT is 1.17, that is, each group of 100 infected transmits the new coronavirus to 117. According to the experts, the ideal is that the RT is always below 1.
Purple wave
Fearing the lack of assistance due to the lack of vacancies for hospitalizations, the government of Minas Gerais implemented a purple wave for all the municipalities of Minas Gerais. The measure has an initial validity of 15 days.
