Witnesses relayed a shooting at King Soopers market on the Internet
A gunman killed at least 10 people, including a police officer, in a supermarket in the city of Boulder, Colorado, according to local officials.
The King Soopers market shooting started around 2:30 pm local time and, with the arrival of the police, clashes and negotiation attempts went on for hours. The attack ended with what appeared to be a shirtless suspect taken by police outside the establishment.
Witnesses broadcast the shooting live on networks such as YouTube.
The police only provided details about the police officer killed in the confrontation with the sniper.
About 20 minutes after the attack began, Boulder police tweeted that there was a “sniper in action at King Soopers.”

Two hours later, the police issued a new message asking residents to avoid the region.
“DO NOT broadcast any tactical information that you may witness on social media,” the tweet added.
However, part of the incident was captured by the camera of a person who was at the scene and was filming the victims.

Colorado authorities have yet to release the identities of the victims.
In a press conference with reporters, Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold confirmed that a suspect had been arrested. “I want to assure the community that they are safe.”
According to her, the police officer killed in the lawsuit was Eric Talley, a 51-year-old man who has worked for the Boulder Police Department since 2010.
“This officer took heroic action in responding to what happened … There were calls for shots in the area and a call about a possible person with a rifle,” he said, adding: “Officer Talley was the first to arrive at the scene”. , and they shot him dead. “
Herold did not provide further details on the shooting, but said the investigation was “very complex” and would take “at least five days to complete.”
The names of the other victims will not be released until family members are informed.
