For 79% of Brazilians, the pandemic is out of control, says Datafolha

According to a Datafolha survey published by the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper on Thursday night (18), 79% of Brazilians think that the pandemic of COVID-19 it is out of control in Brazil. It’s an increase of 17% compared to 62% who expressed the same opinion in January of this year.

During the survey conducted between March 15 and 16, 18% of those surveyed answered that the situation is partially controlled, 2% that it is fully controlled and 1% answered that they do not know.

The same survey shows that 82% of the population declares that they are very afraid (55%) or a little afraid (27%). Among those interviewed, 12% said they were not afraid of the pandemic and 7% reported having already contracted the disease.

This Thursday, Brazil registered 2,659 new deaths from Covid-19 and in just 18 days in March it already surpassed all the victims in February, which had already been a very bad period in the country. The weekly moving average of deaths, which eliminates distortions between weekdays and weekends, broke a record for the twentieth consecutive day and stood at 2,096 this Thursday
