A 21-year-old pregnant woman was murdered and her baby was taken from her belly at her home, in the Nova Holanda neighborhood, in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro. According to the 32 BPM (Military Police Battalion), the woman, identified as Pâmella Ferreira Andrade Martins, was “approximately nine months pregnant” and her son was removed with the use of a knife.
The suspect is a 21-year-old woman who has not been identified, so it was not possible to seek her defense. The crime occurred inside the home of the victim, found lifeless on the bathroom floor.
The baby did not resist and also died. After murdering the mother and taking him away from the victim, the suspect moved with the boy, a boy, to a UPA (Emergency Attention Unit) in Barra, Macaé. There the death of the child was confirmed.
The crime was discovered after professionals verified through examinations that the woman did not become pregnant with the child taken to the doctor. The arrest took place at the Dr. Fernando Pereira da Silva Municipal Public Hospital, a unit where the suspect was referred for specialized care.

The case is being investigated by the 123 Civil Police Station. The corporation reported that the suspect was caught on the spot and that “investigations indicate that he participated in the murder of the child’s mother, who died to have the baby removed from her womb.”
The victim was happy to have another child, says a friend
Pâmella Martins was expecting her second child. Married, she had a two-year-old son with her husband. According to friends, the young woman was anxiously waiting for the baby.
“We were friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her, with that beautiful smile that delighted anyone. She was incredible, that friend who was with you in everything. Also, she was a mother and a woman who took such good care of her son and who I was happy with the arrival of our Icarus. I have no reason to lose such an incredible person, “said Thaynara Rodrigues.
The investigation is still seeking to know the degree of relationship between the victim and the suspect. They would both be together the day before the crime.
