The Ministry of Health announced today that it will distribute 2.6 million doses of the CoronaVac vaccine, produced by the Butantan Institute, this week.

Last week, the Minister of Health, General Eduardo Pazuello, said that, starting in April, with the two national factories that produce vaccines, it will be possible for the country to have access to about 30 million monthly doses, in addition to vaccines. . to be imported. He also affirmed that with this he hopes that the entire population will be vaccinated before the end of the year, so that later the covid-19 has the situation alleviated, although we still have to live with it for a long time.

“By April we will have stabilized the two operating factories, with figures of 30 to 32 million doses per month. I am not talking about the Indian Covaxin that was bought, nor the Covax that was also bought, nor Pfizer, which yesterday (Wednesday 3) was already published in the Official Gazette the purchase tender. All this is imported, which also adds up. What matters most to us is national manufacturing. It will give us the possibility to vaccinate the Brazilian people in 2021, “said the minister.

Brazil approached the mark of 8.5 million vaccinated against covid-19 this Monday (8), according to data released by the consortium of press vehicles of which the Twitter is part, based on information provided by state health departments. At least one dose was applied to 8,497,929 Brazilians, which corresponds to 4.01% of the country’s population.

In the last 24 hours, 277,109 people received the first dose of immunizer. The second dose was applied to 130,700 Brazilians from yesterday to today.

In total, 2,848,847 people received the two doses of vaccine, as recommended by the laboratories that make CoronaVac and Oxford / AstraZeneca. The number is equivalent to only 1.35% of the Brazilian population.

Amazonas continues to be the state that, proportionally, has the highest number of vaccinated: 307,536 inhabitants received at least one dose of immunizer. This corresponds to 7.31% of the local population. Pará, for its part, remains the state with the lowest percentage of application of the first dose, with only 2.06%.
