The transmission rate of covid-19 in Brazil increased significantly, according to a survey by the British Imperial College in London. The study was published on Tuesday (2) and makes a comparison with the survey published last week by the institution.
Now, the Rt, which is the index that measures transmission, is at 1.13, compared to the 1.02 and 1.03 presented in previous days.
The Brazilian Rt margin for Imperial College can vary between 1.10 and 1.15. In Brazil, when the transmission rate is higher than 1, it means that the covid-19 is out of control. Since December, Brazil has had a Rt rate higher than 1.
According to projections, Brazil may register 9,190 deaths from covid-19 this week. The British university believes that, in the worst case, the fatalities in the country could reach 9,500.
Rt is the main reference when it is necessary to observe the progress of the new coronavirus pandemic. The Rt of 1.13 is equivalent to 100 infected Brazilians transmitting the disease to 113 other people.
Iraq has the highest transmission rate of the week, with 1.35, followed by Palestine, which has 1.26 and Bulgaria, with 1.24.
The lowest rates were recorded in Sweden, which had a Rt of 0.53, in Switzerland, 0.56, and in Portugal, 0.56.
Progress of covid-19 in Brazil
O Brazil is going through the first moment of the pandemic, with a mobile average reaching a mark of 1,224 in this second-fair (1st), according to the agreement of the consortium formed by UOL, O Globo, Extra, G1, Folha de São Paulo in the State of San Pablo.
The moving average on Sunday (28) was 1,208 and on Saturday (27) it was 1,180. The index is made from the sum of the result of the last seven days, divided by seven, which shows the evolution of covid-19 in the country.
