This was his second test. In 2017, Manhanhã had been sentenced to 110 years in prison for participating in 11 deaths and two attempted murders. In 2018, Cristilder was sentenced to 119 years in prison for 12 deaths and four assassination attempts.
The debates between the prosecution and the defense ended today at 2:00 p.m. After a lunch break, the jurors gathered in the secret room to vote. The decision was announced at 3:20 pm.
The new jury lasted five days.
The new trial, which began on Monday (22) and ended on Friday, was carried out after the São Paulo Court of Justice overturned the convictions of Cristilder and Manhanhã on the grounds that the jurors had judged him partially contrary to the case.
The TJ’s decision did not reach the other two MPs accused of the massacre. Fabrício Eleutério and Thiago Henklain were sentenced in 2017 to 255 and 247 years in prison, respectively, and are still in prison. Despite sentences of more than 100 years, the defendants will be imprisoned for a maximum of 30 years.
According to the Public Ministry, the victims were killed and wounded by a group of security forces agents who came together to avenge the murders of Prime Minister Admilson Pereira de Oliveira, on August 8, 2015, in Osasco, and of the Civil Guard Jeferson Luiz Rodrigues. da Silva, on August 12 of that year, in Barueri.

Prosecutor Marcelo Alexandre de Oliveira said after the trial that he still believes in the participation of the former prime minister and the civil guard in the massacre, but that the decision of the TJ that annulled the first jury weighed heavily on the trial.

The lawyer for the accused, João Carlos Campanini, added 20,000 new pages of documents to the case after the acquittal of the former prime minister in another case in which he was charged with the murder of Michael do Amaral Ribeiro, one of the six victims of the dam massacre of Carapicuiba, Itapevi and Osasco, which took place 5 days before the massacre of Osasco and Barueri.
