The national president of the PTB, former deputy Roberto Jefferson said that the party will join, on Monday 22, with representation in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, of the Organization of American States (OAS), against all the ministers of the Federal Supreme Court . (STF) on charges of violating the rule of law.

“Freedom of expression is a fundamental right. God, Country, Family, Life and FREEDOM,” the former congressman wrote in a post on Twitter on the afternoon of Saturday 20.

The measure is a reaction to the arrest warrant for federal deputy Daniel Silveira (PSL-RJ). In the opinion of the PTB leader, Silveira is imprisoned for a crime of opinion, based on the National Security Law.

Jefferson maintains that Silveira is a deputy and, therefore, “has inviolability of his words and votes.”

“He is a POLITICAL PRISONER. Repeat with me, HE IS A POLITICAL PRISONER. His arrest was decreed by a state power,” he described in his publication.

Daniel Silveira was arrested in flagrante delicto for a dubious offense last Tuesday 16 when he published a video with hate speech against ministers of the Supreme Federal Court and apology for Institutional Act No. 5 (AI-5), the most repressive of the military dictatorship. His arrest was authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes and later confirmed unanimously by the other ten STF ministers.

He also made the penalty was retained by the Plenary of the Federal Chamber on Friday 19, with a score of 364 votes against 140.
