Clinics make private waiting list for Covid-19 vaccine

Although it has not yet applied for registration for emergency or permanent use to Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency), the vaccine against Covid-19 Covaxin, developed by the Indian laboratory Bharat Biotech, already has a waiting list for the immunizer.

A CNN found that a drug distributor in São Paulo guarantees vaccination priority for those interested. The company does not require payment in advance, but clarifies that the estimated value for two doses of the vaccine is R $ 1,450 and that the forecast of availability of the immunizer is April 30.

Wanted by the report, the distributor also said that the clinic accepts interested people over the age of 12, but does not guarantee whether Covaxin will be recommended for this age group.

The information, which already circulates in various social media groups and generates dozens of interested parties, was contested by Precis Medicamentos, the company in charge of importing the doses of the immunizer to Brazil.

According to the pharmacist, the laboratory strictly follows all Anvisa determinations and, although there is no approval from the agency, it is not possible to determine values, deadlines, distribution to private clinics, much less a waiting list.

In a note, Anvisa clarifies that the product has not yet undergone evaluation and cannot comment on its effectiveness, indication of audiences or age groups or even on the forecast of its availability. At the moment, the laboratory has submitted only one request for a clinical study in the country.

ABCVAC (Brazilian Association of Vaccine Clinics) says that each associated clinic is acting individually with its negotiation and all procedures are kept confidential.
