Coelho defeats his rival 2-1 in Independência, but sees escape from the title with Chape’s victory at Arena Condá

Dramatically, the title of Series B of the Brazilian Championship went to Chapecoense. America beat Avaí 2-1 in a highly contested and exciting match at Independência, tonight, however, they saw the title slip away in additions not from their match, but from the duel between Chape and Confiança at Arena Condá, with the goal . from Anselmo Ramón’s penalty, which ensured the victory of Santa Catarina by 3 to 1 and the achievement of Verdão do Oeste, beating Coelho in the goal difference criterion.

Electrifying

It was a crazy night, with a lot of excitement in Serie B and the title defined dramatically. In Belo Horizonte, the beginning was already electrifying. After four minutes, a penalty for Avaí and a lot of expectation. In the collection, Matheus Cavichioli saved Alemão’s shot. The play gave even more confidence and tranquility to America, which was already superior on the field, and psychologically affected the visitors. Not surprisingly, just three minutes later, Alê gave a good pass to Rodolfo, inside the area, to shoot the ball into the back of the net, opening the scoring for Coelho.

With the advantage on the scoreboard, Lisca’s team further increased its dominance on the field, completely controlling the game and being far superior to Avaí. The Americans’ brand of pressure when the ball came out of Santa Catarina caused enormous damage to the visitors, with Coelho causing his opponent to miss and suffer a lot, always stealing the ball, staying close to the rival area and creating chances.

And Alviverde’s superiority was rewarded in the 22nd minute, with Ademir finishing left-handed from outside the area and the ball bouncing, hindering goalkeeper Gledson and entering the back of the net.

Dominant in the first half, America was proclaimed champion with its 2-0 win, while Chapecoense, at Arena Condá, beat Confiança 1-0.

In the final stage, however, everything changed. At 10 minutes, in Santa Catarina, Reis tied for the visitors, leaving Coelho even closer to the title. In Horto, Avaí, completely dominated in the first 45 minutes, began to put pressure on América and balanced the actions. Not in vain, Getúlio, head-on, at 16min, went down to Santa Catarina. The combination of results, however, continued to give the Lisca team a third title.

The same with difficulties to create chances and being pressured into defense, in addition to that Cavichioli did not have any great interventions, or America managed to finish noite no Horto with a victory by 2 to 1. Not so, no comemorou when the referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza closed the match. The American cast came to see the final minutes of the duel in Santa Catarina on a monitor at the edge of the lawn. Lisca, in turn, ran down to the locker room.

On the monitor, a drama. Chape, who had managed to return to the advantage, with a goal from Perotti, in the 34th minute, had a penalty scored in his favor already in extra time. Anselmo Ramon’s collection at Arena Condá would decide the title of Series B of the Brazilian Championship. Would America again have reason to celebrate after a penalty, as it was at the beginning of their game? No. The story in Santa Catarina was different. With personality, the forward did not waste the opportunity, hit the ball and declared the title of Chapecoense and the disenchantment of Coelho.
