After being fired yesterday by the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Hospital in Vitória after posting a video on social networks mocking CoronaVac, a vaccine developed by the Butantan Institute against covid-19, nurse Nathanna Faria Ceschim will be investigated by MPES ( Ministério Público do Espírito Santo) and Coren-ES (Regional Council of Nursing of Espírito Santo), and may even revoke their professional registration.

In a statement issued to the press last night, the MPES said that Nathanna will be investigated for not using security equipment against covid-19 while recording a video in the hospital facilities.

“The Public Ministry of the State of Espírito Santo (MPES), through the Public Ministry of Vitória, instituted, on Monday (01/25), a procedure to investigate alleged irregularities in the conduct of health professionals in relation to the failure to use personal protective equipment, especially the nurse Nathanna Faria Barbosa Ceschim, in the exercise of her duties at the Santa Casa de Misericordia Hospital in Vitória, ”he wrote in a note.

The MP also reported that the nurse put the lives of patients and other health professionals at risk by not using mandatory equipment. “The conduct of the nursing professional, as highlighted by the MPES, puts the life and health of patients and even the professionals who work in that hospital at risk, and does not comply with health protocols, especially in the emergency period in public health due to covid -19, “he said.

The Santa Casa Hospital, which has already fired Nathanna and said through a note that it would not comment further on the case, will have to respond to the MP about the irregularities. Coren-ES and Sesa (Health Secretary of Espírito Santo), given that the hospital provides philanthropic services in alliance with the secretary, letters were also sent to investigate the events.

Coren-ES can apply a verbal warning until the record is lost

TO Twitter, OR Coren-ES, who had previously issued a note of disapproval about the “conduct of a nurse in Vitória who disdained the vaccine to contain the pandemic,” now says she is evaluating a possible warning to Nathanna.

Regarding the case of the nurse, the Regional Council of Nursing of Espírito Santo (Coren-ES) will analyze the images made by the professional and, following the rites of the Code of Ethical Process and the Code of Ethics of the category, will evaluate whether or not no ethical infringement. If the infraction is confirmed, the professional will receive a sanction that can range from a verbal warning to the withdrawal of the record. Throughout the process, the nurse is fully defended, ”reported the Council.

The report attempted to listen to Nathanna, but received no response until this article was published. On social media, the nurse defended herself against the accusations and said she never made fun of the vaccine.

“I have a clear conscience, I did not commit any crime. At no point in the video did I campaign against the vaccine. I only exercised my right as a citizen to express my opinion, the famous freedom of expression. At no time did I make fun of or make fun of the more than 200 thousand deaths that Brazil had, ”he said.
