The president of Palmas Futebol e Regatas, Lucas Meira, the athletes Lucas Praxedes, Guilherme Noé, Ranule and Marcus Molinari, and Commander Wagner died this Sunday morning (24) after a plane crash.
The plane was heading to Goiânia for the departure between Vila Nova and Palmas. The game, valid for the Green Cup, is scheduled for 4 pm this Monday (25), at the OBA stadium, in Goiânia. Vila Nova issued a note lamenting the accident and stating that it will ask for the match to be postponed.
The note released by the club said that the plane took off from the airstrip of the Tocantins Aviation Association, in the Luzimangues district, in Porto Nacional, around 8:15 am and fell shortly afterwards in a bush. There were no survivors.
In a statement, the club regretted the accident and said that we are in a moment of pain and dismay. “The club asks for prayers for family members to whom it will provide the necessary support, and emphasizes that in due course it will speak again,” the note says.
Lucas Meira was born in Goiânia and has lived in Palmas since 2007. He was 32 years old and served as president and advisor to Renapsi, developing training projects and access to the first job for young people in Palmas and throughout the country. He was president of the club and worked in education and mobility startups.
The wake and burial of Lucas Meira are planned for Memorial Park. The calendar has yet to be published.
