The Board of Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) will meet tomorrow at 3 pm to decide on the second request for emergency use of the CoronaVac vaccine.
According to the Agency, the meeting may be accompanied by a live webcast. It should last about two hours.
The request that will be analyzed at tomorrow’s meeting refers to the authorization for emergency use of CoronaVac doses produced by the Butantan Institute in Brazil. The vaccines authorized last Sunday (17) and that are being used throughout Brazil were imported ready-made from China.
This order includes 4.8 million doses of the vaccine that are already ready. According to the São Paulo government, the request also includes the production of another 35 million doses.
The request was made last Monday (18). Anvisa executives had already reported that the authorization process for new doses should be faster than the previous one, since most of the information is repeated.
