Zinedine Zidane attended a press conference after being eliminated today in the Spanish Super Cup. The 2-1 defeat against Bilbao made Real Madrid not reach the final of the competition, so the media began to question a possible crisis, which made the merengue captain a bit uncomfortable.
“It is not a failure. Failure is not trying, not giving everything on the field. Life is like that, you can’t always win. We always try to win, but you can’t always win,” he said, adding:
“What do you want, that we leave for the season? There will be more noise outside, but we plan to continue working.”
Still on the subject, the French coach cited that the current sequence is not positive, however, there are not two, nor three games that should classify the attitude of a team throughout the season.
“We had a good run, and now it’s two draws and one loss. We have to keep working to change the dynamics quickly. What we can do is keep working,” he emphasized.
Real Madrid is currently second in the Spanish Championship, with 37 points, four from Atlético de Madrid. Zinedine’s men return to the pitch next Wednesday, against Alcoyano, for the Copa del Rey.
