The daughter of the former mayor of Ponta Grossa, in Campos Gerais do Paraná, Marcelo Rangel (PSDB), published a video in which he appears showing a bottle with the symbol of the Butantan Institute on the TikTok platform.
In the video, Juliana Rangel refers to the vaccine against Covid-19. In the images it shows the packaging while you can listen to a recording with the words “show something that you have, that nobody else has and that you think is really cool”.
The young woman posted the video on the social network and wrote the title “Covid Vaccine.”
The institute’s vaccine is still awaiting the launch of the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) to begin its distribution throughout the country. The request for emergency use was submitted last Friday.

After the repercussion of the case, on Tuesday (12), the former mayor Marcelo Rangel said that his daughter, 19, will not comment on the fact. He confirmed the authenticity of the video and said that the publication was a form of publicity for the vaccine, given the population’s questions about efficacy and purchase.
Rangel shared a Print publication of the young woman in a personal social network.
The former mayor also said the bottle is a sample of CoronaVac, a vaccine manufactured at the Butantan Institute, which was distributed to mayors during a visit by city officials to the site in December.
He said he had authorization from the institute to use the bottle for outreach.

On December 15, a letter was published from the then mayor with authorization to buy 16,000 doses of CoronaVac, with the intention of starting vaccination later this month.
