The man delivered today to the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Station as a suspect of involvement in the disappearance of the minors in Belford Roxo, on the 27th, “has nothing to do with the case,” the Rio Civil Police reported.
The man lives in the same condominium as the disappeared children and was transferred to the unit in the early morning by residents of the Castelar neighborhood and relatives of the children.

Castelar is the neighborhood where the boys’ family lives, in Belford Roxo, in Baixada Fluminense. The children Lucas Matheus, Alexandre da Silva and Fernando Henrique, who are between 8 and 10 years old, disappeared 16 days ago. They went to play on a soccer field close to home and never came back.
Since then, the family has received false information about the trio’s whereabouts. On the 5th, the children’s relatives suffered a car accident, after going out to check information that the trio would be in an ice cream parlor in the neighboring city.
The police station responsible for the case has already analyzed more than 40 security cameras in the region. As of the 7th, the boys hadn’t been caught in any of them. The next day, the mother of one of them told investigators that a boy without a shirt and blue shorts that appeared on her back in one of the images could be her son.
According to the Civil Police, since the record of the disappearance of the minors, the Belford Roxo police station listened to relatives and witnesses and carried out investigations in at least 30 towns in the capital and in the municipalities of Belford Roxo, Duque de Caxias and Nova Iguaçu , in Baixada. Fluminense, based on testimonies and news from possible regions where the boys were seen.
Two friends of the boys gave testimony and searches were carried out in an area of forest identified as the place where they would have gone.
