A businessman was allegedly murdered by his girlfriend yesterday afternoon in a condominium located in the Horto Florestal neighborhood, a privileged area of Salvador. The bodies of Elton Gonçalves Campelo, 35, and Isabela Araújo Valença, 33, were found around 5:50 p.m. in one of the guest rooms, located on Rua Waldemar Falcão.
TO Twitter, the Civil Police reported that, after shooting Elton in the head with a pistol, Isabela committed suicide. There is no information on what could have motivated the crime and if there were other people on the property during the act.
The apartment that was the scene of the tragedy would belong to the businessman’s father. The case is investigated by the 1st DH (Homicide Police).
The couple lived in Petrolina (PE) and were in the capital of Bahia to visit relatives. According to reports from people close to him, Elton and Isabela had been dating for at least two years and displayed a peaceful relationship. They had no children and worked in the fruit industry.
Both Elton and Isabela used to post photos of the moments they spent together on social media. In the last publication, made around 8 pm on Saturday (9), Isabela shared on her Instagram account a selfie in which she appears with her boyfriend on a boat trip.
Also known as Tom, the businessman belonged to a traditional family from Juazeiro, in the north of Bahia. In a statement, the mayor of the city, Suzana Ramos (PSDB), regretted Elton’s death and expressed her solidarity with his parents.
“I received the news of Elton Campelo’s death with the deepest sadness. Young, smart, and with a great future ahead of him, Elton was proud of his family and all of his friends. I offer my warmest hug to my parents, Elza and Gladston as well. the Campelo family. May God receive him in glory, ”the mayor wrote.
