President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) attacked the press work again today, in conversation with supporters in front of the Palácio da Alvorada, and said that it will be necessary to “endure” it until the end of 2022, when his current term will end. .

“They will have to put up with me until the end of 22, yes,” Bolsonaro said, when he was praised by a supporter who asked him to continue “doing what he did.”

Shortly before, in the same conversation, Bolsonaro criticized the press without being specific, speaking of “the incessant work of trying to wear down” the government, which would point to the return of “someone who serves the interests of the media.”

Even at the meeting, the president once again minimized the new coronavirus pandemic, saying that “it is enhanced by the media” and hindered the government’s economic plans.

“Boss, Brazil is broken, I can’t do anything. Did you want to change the income tax table? (But) this year (2020) there was this virus that was powered by the means we have,” Bolsonaro said.

The statement comes at a time when the pandemic has intensified in Brazil. There were 707 deaths on average in the last seven days

Last Thursday (30), the country registered the highest number of deaths in a single day since August (1,224), consolidating the increase in the death curve that has been presenting since mid-November. Last week, there were three consecutive days of deaths of more than a thousand. In total, the country registers 196,591 deaths caused by covid-19.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 7,754,560 people have been infected in Brazil, and the government has been pressured by the delay in starting vaccination in relation to other countries in the world. The country does not yet have a vaccine authorized to be used in the immunization campaign, which does not yet have an estimated start date.
