Federal deputy Alexandre Frota (PSDB-SP) requested to initiate a disciplinary process against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ), son of President Jair Bolsonaro (no party). In the letter addressed to the Senate, the former Bolsonarista Frota alleges that Flávio is being investigated by the MP-RJ (Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro) and asks the senator to lose his mandate if the crimes of which he is suspected are confirmed.
Fleet also mentions that the senator “has been trying to interfere in the investigations” and that he may also have committed the crime of influence peddling.
At the beginning of November, the senator was denounced by the MP-RJ for embezzlement, money laundering and criminal organization. The accusations were offered as a result of the investigation of the so-called Queiroz case, the name by which the process that investigates the alleged crime of “crack” in the former Flávio’s office became a state deputy in Alerj (Legislative Assembly of Rio).
Flávio Bolsonaro and his former adviser Fabrício Queiroz are accused of commanding an alleged scheme of illegal transfer of salaries to employees of the office of the son of the President of the Republic. The suspicion was added in December to another case involving the senator, in which he would have obtained help from Abin (the Brazilian Intelligence Agency) to defend himself in the “cracking” process.
Época magazine revealed that Abin produced at least two reports to help defend Flávio in the Queiroz case. The senator himself confirmed the reports, but the GSI (Office of Institutional Security) denied the existence of the documents.
Frota, a former ally of the Bolsonaro family, presented the letter addressed to Davi Alcolumbre (DEM-AP), president of the Senate, but the document has already been delivered to the Chamber’s Ethics Council, chaired by Senator Jayme Campos (DEM-MT ).
According to Campos’ advisor, the president of the Council asked the Senate to analyze the letter, as he had already done with another process that calls for the impeachment of Flávio Bolsonaro, which was presented in February by the opposition parties PT, PSOL and Red de sustainability.
The previous request made by the opposition parties to the Bolsonaro government had an amendment in December, which already updates the document with the suspicion of Abin’s help to the senator.
