It is not true that Benny Ben-Mubhar, director of the Mevoot Hermon Regional Council in Israel, pretended to have been vaccinated against Covid-19. Posts suggesting this bring only a portion of their vaccination video (see here). After being immunized, Ben-Mubhar was filmed and asked the population to get vaccinated. Shortly after, one of the people in the room commented that the name of the health unit was not mentioned. Then he repeats the speech while the nurse simulates the immunization that he had just performed.
The part of the video showing only the simulation has been shared on Facebook and Twitter in various countries. In Brazil, disinformation has at least 31,000 shares on Facebook this Monday (4) and was marked with the FALSE seal in the verification tool of the social network (understand how it works).
Where is the needle? Fool me that I like it 😂. If even they have the courage to take the Chinese vaccine, imagine me 😂😂😂
The posts that have been circulating on social media are misleading when an edited video is used to hint that Benny Ben-Mubhar, head of the Mevoot Hermon Regional Council in the northern district of Israel, only pretended to have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
In fact, the full video shows that Ben-Mubhar is filmed while receiving the vaccine and encourages the population to be immunized against the disease. After the vaccination, one of the people in the room commented that he had forgotten to mention the name of the health unit. The head of the council then repeats the speech while the nurse touches him with the needleless syringe, only to record the scene again.
By analyzing the images and dialogues in Hebrew at the request of The facts, the Embassy of Israel in Brazil said that “he [Benny Ben-Mubhar] had already been vaccinated. So much so that the girl says: ‘but you didn’t say the name of the hospital, let’s repeat.’ ”
On a Facebook page, Ben-Mubhar also posted the full video and confirmed that he had been vaccinated.
Campaign in Israel. Vaccination against Covid-19 in Israel began on December 20, and by January 1, 2021, around 10% of the population had already been immunized. The country leads the ranking of doses applied per 100 inhabitants among the nations that have already started the campaigns. According to data from Our world in data, Israel had administered 14,14 doses per 100 people as of January 3.
OR Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was immunized on December 19, before the official calendar, and has been campaigning to encourage the population to receive the vaccine. According to the Israeli Ministry of Health, health professionals and citizens over 60 years of age are being vaccinated in this first phase. The so-called phase B includes people with comorbidities, teachers, social workers, prisoners and guards. According to the Embassy, the plan is to vaccinate the entire population before March 27.
Some publications that highlight part of the video are also misleading by citing “Chinese vaccine”, since Israel initiated the immunization with the vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech, which are companies from the United States and Germany. Another vaccine that should be launched soon in Israel is the one produced by the modern pharmaceutical company, also from the USA.
