The two tourists found dead in Capitólio, after a head of water hit the Cascatinha waterfall on Saturday (2), are from the city of Oliveira. Elayla Chaga Resende Corrêa, 24, and Helen Cristina Santos de Oliveira, 27, were carried away by the force of the water and died instantly.
The bodies of the young women were veiled and buried in Oliveira on Sunday afternoon (3). The Ayuntamiento and the Ayuntamiento issued a note of condolences.
After the accident, the bodies were transferred to a funeral home in the municipality of Alpinópolis, south of Minas, and the identities confirmed by the Passos Medical Legal Institute (IML) and by the Civil Police.
