Four other people in the truck, including a child, survived; according to police, the driver lost control of the steering, hit the bridge and fell into the water
A 50-year-old woman died after the truck in which she overturned and fell into the water of a stream, located on a bridge at KM 50.8 of BR-267, between Maripá de Minas and Bicas, in the Zona da Mata .
In the car, there were four other occupants, including a child, who was not of legal age reported. All survived the accident, which occurred around 5 in the morning on Sunday (3), they were from the same family and traveled from the state of Rio de Janeiro to Goiás.
According to the Juiz de Fora Fire Department, upon reaching the scene of the accident, four people who were in the car had already been rescued by the Military Police.
However, the woman was trapped in the hardware and, as the rear of the vehicle was submerged in the waters of the stream, which had strong currents at the time of the accident, she was not removed in time and ended up dying.
According to the Federal Highway Police, the trucker, who was not yet of legal age, lost control of the direction of the vehicle, collided with the bridge and fell into the stream. Despite being the owner of the car, the deceased woman was traveling as a passenger.
Later, the body of the victim was removed and handed over to the Federal Highway Police guard. The rest of the occupants of the truck were treated by the Medical Emergencies Service (Samu) and transferred to the São José de Bicas Hospital.
