INSS confirms a 25% INCREASE in retirement in 2021; look who can

OR National Institute of Social Security (INSS) announced a 25% increase in the amount of retirement for some beneficiaries. However, the change is only applicable in some cases of retirees due to disability. The change is about the assistance of a companion.

The additional was created with the objective of complementing the retirement of the beneficiaries. The increase is equivalent to an amount to cover aid for daily activities.

Retirees who receive the benefit must be unable to carry out work activities. Thus, when there is a need for a companion, the person responsible for the assistance may be a family member and does not need to be a nurse or a contractor.

How to request the increase

The benefit is already granted with the retirement process. However, people who are already retired due to disability and have not received assistance, can request it through the My INSS application or by calling 135.

The INSS emphasizes the need for some documents to apply, namely: CPF and photo identification document of the applicant and the representative, or lawyer; Term of legal representation or power of attorney; and medical documents showing that the insured is dependent on a third party.
