This Friday (1), in São Paulo, Father Antonio Luiz Marchioni passed away, known as Father Ticão, 68 years old, due to heart problems.
The information was confirmed by the Santa Marcelina Itaquera Hospital, where the nun was admitted (see full note at the end of the text), and by the Parish of São Francisco de Assis de Ermelino Matarazzo, who had Father Ticão as parish priest.
Known for his social work in the capital of São Paulo, especially in the Eastern Zone, the priest was admitted to the hospital on Thursday (31), with cardiac arrhythmia and pulmonary edema. On Friday he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and could not resist.
OR The wake takes place from 6 am to 2 pm this Saturday (2), in the São Francisco de Assis Church, in Ermelino Matarazzo, in the East Zone of São Paulo. Then the body will be buried in Carmo Cemetery I, in Itaquera.

On social media, mayor of São Paulo, Bruno Covas (PSDB), lamented the death of the religious and affirmed that 2021 begins with “bad news”.
“2021 begins with the sad news of the death of Father Ticão. A great defender of the poorest population in the East Zone of São Paulo. A warrior in the fight to reduce social inequalities. Rest in peace,” published Covas.
