The MPRJ (Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro) today denounced engineer Paulo José Arronenzi for five qualified homicides. The victim was his ex-wife, Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral Arronenzi, who died on December 24 in Barra da Tijuca.
The complaint was made by the 2nd Public Ministry of Rio’s III Jury Court. Viviane was stabbed to death in front of her children, in a crime that the police consider premeditated.
According to the complaint, Paulo José committed a crime of femicide, described as having occurred in the presence of three children, between seven and ten years old. Disagreement with the termination of the relationship, especially due to the economic consequences in the life of the accused, made the complaint qualifying as the base motive for the murder.
In addition, the crime was still nuanced by the fact that it was committed by means that made it difficult to defend the victim, who was stabbed by surprise when leaving the car. The cruel environment also qualified the homicide.
According to the MPRJ document, Paulo knowingly and voluntarily stabbed the judge.
The Public Ministry still wants Paulo José to be sentenced to pay compensation for the moral and material damages caused to the family of the ex-wife. However, the amount would be calculated during the process.
