Emergency aid, until then, will not be extended until 2021, as reported by President Jair Bolsonaro himself and the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes.

In recent months, citizens have been waiting for the release of a new assistance program for Brazilians. The Income Citizen, planned to replace Bolsa Família, is still under discussion.

However, due to the lack of agreement to define the financing base of the new assistance program, the program still remains undefined. Therefore, the federal government even considered expanding Bolsa Família to serve more people in the program.

It is important to remember that with the end of the emergency aid, many Brazilian families who have depended on the benefit will experience difficulties, since they have not yet been able to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic that resulted in massive unemployment.

The government received a loan of US $ 1,000 million from the World Bank and that amount should finance Bolsa Família as of 2021, when the Budget again has strict rules to contain public debt.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Congress authorized a series of extraordinary expenses until the end of this year, within the so-called war budget. However, this measure should not be renewed for next year. Therefore, the need to cut spending to expand Bolsa Família persists.

In the midst of the impasse, the Federal Government will be able to generate the following benefits:

  • The monthly subsidy for childcare for each child is R $ 52.00;
  • The annual bonus for the best student is R $ 200.00;
  • A monthly scholarship of R $ 100.00 and an annual scholarship in science and technology of R $ 1,000.00;
  • In addition, students who excel in sports activities will receive a scholarship of R $ 100.00 per month and a bonus of R $ 1,000.00 each year for the best students.

The government plans to allocate R $ 5.1 billion to child care assistance, and 8 million children will benefit. According to the accounts of the Planalto Palace technicians and the economic team, Bolsa Família’s budget should reach R $ 34.4 billion, it will serve a total of 14.5 million families, it will reach 44.2 million families. people and will guarantee an average profit of R $ 202.

The annual R $ 200 award for the best students is expected to reach around 1.8 million students. The government expects the school merit program to reward 800,000 children and teens in the Northeast, 500,000 in the Southeast, 300,000 in the North, 100,000 in the Midwest and 100,000 in the South.

In addition, the best students will receive a monthly scholarship of R $ 100, plus an annual award of R $ 1,000. The two benefits will go to 10,000 students who excel in activities related to Science and Technology. And another 10,000 student athletes will receive a monthly scholarship of R $ 100, plus an annual award of R $ 1,000.
