President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) participated today in a friendly charity with athletes, former athletes, leaders and musicians in Vila Belmiro, in Santos (SP).
Bolsonaro stayed on the field for a few minutes and scored a goal after receiving a cross in the small area. The president was embraced by colleagues and celebrated the goal by making the gesture of his arms with his hands, popularized during his campaign for the presidency.
The game was broadcast on the public channel TV Brasil, where the presenter highlighted the solidarity nature of the event.
Bolsonaro played for the team in a white uniform, along with forward William, former Santos, Avaí and Ponte Preta, among other teams. Renato, a former midfielder and Santos captain, also participated in the match.
Forward Marinho, current Santos starter, was also seen in Vila’s dressing rooms during the event. The player, one of the main protagonists of the squad, is one of those who has not yet been infected with the coronavirus. João Paulo, reserve of the team that already had the disease, was also present. Santos will play for the Libertadores next week.
The event is traditionally organized by former player Narciso and raises donations for families in need. Curiously, the former athlete was included in the blue team, Bolsonaro’s rival.
Last week’s report from sports showed how the president has used football as a way to promote himself.
Much acclaimed by the fans before the game, the president was responsible for starting the game, along with Santos president Orlando Rollo.
After scoring the goal, Bolsonaro requested a substitution.
