The Military Police of Amazonas needed to isolate the region around the house of Governor Wilson Lima, this Saturday (26), due to the threat of predation, reports the G1 portal. Protesters unhappy with the closure of the trade pressure the government to suspend the decree that closes establishments considered non-essential, for 15 days, as part of the measures to combat Covid-19. During the morning, a crowd seized the center of the capital to protest against the closure of stores.
Around 5 p.m., the police blocked access to Ephigênio Sales and André Araújo avenues, towards the Center, for approximately 1 hour. The traffic at the Coroado roundabout became congested. Teams from the Ronda Ostensiva Cândido Mariano (Rocam), the Tactical Force and the State Traffic Department (Detran-AM) operate at the site.
By note, the government of Amazonas stated that it is studying measures to mitigate losses. The government also stressed that containment measures to contain the advance of Covid-19 during the Christmas season “are fundamental at this time.”
