The three daughters of Judge Viviane Arronenzi, who died on Christmas Eve for her ex-husband, will stay with their maternal grandmother. The permit was issued yesterday by the Judicial Power on duty in Niterói, a city in the metropolitan region of Rio, where the magistrate lived with the girls.

The president of the Rio de Janeiro Magistrates Association, Felipe Gonçalves, said the children are shocked.

“The grandmother already has custody of the children. The children are naturally upset, but they are welcome, they are in the company of their maternal aunt. The aunt and grandmother live together and the grandmother will exercise custody with the help of her aunt”, Gonçalves said during the judge’s wake that took place this morning. The ceremony was closed to friends and family. After saying goodbye, the body was cremated.

Viviane Arronenzi was stabbed to death by her ex-husband on the 24th, Christmas Eve. The case occurred in Barra da Tijuca, on the west side of Rio. The judge had gone to take his three daughters to spend Christmas with their father. The children witnessed the crime.

Paulo Arronenzi, 52, was arrested on the spot by the Municipal Guard. At the Homicide Station, where he was transferred, the engineer preferred to remain silent and did not testify.

Yesterday, the Justice made the arrest in flagrante delicto preventive and Paulo was sent to a prison unit in the Gericino Complex, on the west side of Rio.

In September, Viviane had already registered a police report against the former. She reported threats and personal injuries. For two months, the judge walked with security guards, but then he assessed that the protection measure was no longer necessary and suspended the escort. The judge and her ex-husband were married for 11 years.

Viviane had been part of the Judicial Branch of the State of Rio de Janeiro for 15 years. He currently works in the 24th Civil Court of the Capital. Before that, he worked at the 16th Public Finance Court.
