TJ-RJ judge is murdered by her ex-husband on Christmas night

Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral Arronenzi, of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice, was murdered on Christmas night (12/24) by stabbing by her ex-husband, the engineer Paulo José Arronenzi. He was arrested on the spot and taken to the police station.

Viviane had been part of the judiciary in Rio de Janeiro for 15 years. He currently works in the 24th Civil Court of the capital. Before that, he worked at the 16th Public Finance Court.

The crime occurred in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio de Janeiro. The three daughters of the couple witnessed the event. According to the website G1, Viviane had already recorded bodily injuries against her ex-husband and even had a police escort granted by the TJ-RJ.

In a note of regret, the court said it deeply regrets the death of the judge, a victim of femicide. The National Association of Judges (Andes) Mulher expressed its repudiation of the heinous crime and reinforced its commitment to fight, with vehemence, the terrible pandemic of violence against women, especially the most vulnerable.

“Andes Mulher intends to assume the proposal to change the current legislation, to increase the penalties for misogyny crimes committed against women magistrates or law enforcement officials, since such illegal activities cause public insecurity,” he said in a note signed by the judge. . The Association of Magistrates of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Amaerj) and the Association of Brazilian Magistrates (AMB) issued a note of regret and disgust for such a brutal crime.

“Amaerj is at the disposal of the family, with whom we are already in contact. Dr. Viviane Amaral will not be forgotten. I spoke tonight with Rio State Civil Police Secretary Chief Alan Turnowski. I also spoke with Chief Pedro Casaes who was at the crime scene. I can assure you: this crime will not go unpunished. Femicide is vehemently condemned by Brazilian society. Brazil needs to move on. The president of AMB, Renata Gil, expressed her indignation and disgust at the crime. “Our solidarity with the family and friends of State Judge Viviane Arronenzi, brutally murdered, supposedly by her ex-husband. Femicide is the portrait of a society still marked by gender violence. We have to fight against this evil ”, declared the magistrate, who presided over Amaerj from 2016 to 2019.
