Rio – An officer of the Military Police was killed this Thursday (24) during a robbery of a cargo of electronics, on Av. Narcisa Amália, in the Imbariê neighborhood, Duque de Caxias municipality, in Baixada Fluminense. He was identified as Sergeant Anderson Quinhão Vieira, 43, of the 41st BPM (Irajá).

The crime occurred shortly after a truck left a merchandise warehouse. Criminals armed with rifles in at least two cars intercepted the truck on the street that gives access to the Rio-Magé Highway. The assailants handed over the guards who were escorting them.

Sergeant Quinhão passed and also surrendered. After the group identified the sergeant as a police officer, they shot him. The prime minister was rescued and transferred to the Adão Pereira Nunes General Hospital, in Saracuruna, but he did not resist. The criminals fled carrying the shipment, the value of which was not disclosed by the police.

In a statement, the Military Police mourned the death. The Prime Minister joined the Corporation in 2001 and leaves behind a wife and daughter. The 41st BPM command provides full support to the family. So far, there is no confirmation of the time and place of the burial. The case will be investigated by the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police (DHBF).
