The Bahian president, Guilherme Bellintani, said this afternoon that the midfielder Índio Ramírez will be reinstated to the squad “immediately”. The act takes place three days after the departure of the sock.
In an interview with TVE Bahía, the leader stated that no further evidence was found beyond the word of Gerson, from Flamengo, who accused the Colombian of racism during the last duel between the teams.
“We tried, we tried, and we couldn’t identify any other evidence or circumstance other than the victim’s word. When I say that, it’s not reductionism. That is, it was the victim’s word, which is relevant, important, period.” . .
“I could not affirm that the best decision would be to abandon Ramírez’s presumption of innocence. We consolidate the idea that he must remain in the club and be reinstated immediately. We will be attentive to the parallel processes that are happening and understanding that any other event that occurs. It will deserve an analysis, “continued Bellintani, who ended up asking the fans to trust him.
“I am the owner and responsible for my decisions, I assume the consequences of it. The responsibility is mine. Bahia will remain firm in this fight and I ask for the trust of the people.”
“Letter to society”
On its official website, the club published a letter divided into four parts.
The first is entitled “Racism and society” and condemns any act of this type in society. Then, in the part “Bahia in the racial debate”, the team scored some actions related to the fight against racism.
The third issue admits that such cases can occur even with club employees, stating that “no one is” immune to “such a complex phenomenon.”
Finally, Bahia justifies the reinstatement of Ramírez “given the lack of evidence and possible differences in communication between interlocutors of different languages.”
