Three days after being dismissed from the Bahian squad due to the accusation of racism made by the Flamengo Gerson player, the midfielder Ramírez was reinstated on Thursday (25).
The decision to bring the athlete back to training comes after the internal investigation carried out by the tricolor team found no evidence that the Colombian told Gerson “shut up, black.” In an interview with the TVE magazine program, President Guilherme Bellintani declared that Ramírez will be reinstated immediately.
“We were able to carry out an investigation that we understand reasonably deep within what we had available to analyze (…). We couldn’t get beyond the victim’s word. And with that I do not minimize the importance of the victim’s word. I couldn’t say that the best decision would be to abandon Ramírez’s presumption of innocence. We consolidate the idea that he must remain in the club, be reinstated immediately and we will be attentive to the parallel processes that are taking place: police, prosecutors, STJD ”, justified the official.
The decision also comes after Bahía and Flamengo presented different versions in relation to another discussion that involved Ramírez, this one with Bruno Henrique minutes later, in the same game on Sunday, won by the Rio club 4-3 in Maracaná.
In the case of Bruno Henrique, the version pointed out by Bahia is that Ramírez said “how much?”, Provoking the rival when the tricolor won the game 3×2. Unlike what Flamengo presents, that number 15 shirt would have repeated “your black” to the attacker.
As for the Gerson case, which happened with the score at 2×1 for the rojinegro, there is still no evidence that the Bahia player really said it. Ramírez denies the charge.
It was based on this accusation that the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro opened an investigation and the Colombian will be summoned to testify, as well as coach Mano Menezes -who ended up fired after the match due to the sequence of poor results- and the match referee , Flávio. Rodrigues. Gerson testified Tuesday.
Back in training, the offensive midfielder becomes an option for coach Dado Cavalcanti, who will make his debut on Sunday (27), against Internacional, in Fonte Nova, for the 27th day of the Brasileirão.
