Boca Juniors eliminates Racing and faces Santos in the semifinal of the Libertadores

Led by veteran Carlitos Tevez, Boca created enough in attack to score at least three goals in the first half. He did not score more because goalkeeper Arias was on a bright night, with four incredible saves. At 22 minutes, however, he could not avoid Eduardo Salvio’s wiring to the networks after crossing the area.

In the second part, Salvio was again decisive. At 14 minutes Lisandro López failed inside the area: pnalti. Villa kicked the goalkeeper’s right angle and increased the hosts’ lead, enough to reach the semi-final classification.

In a delicate situation, coach Sebastin Beccacece began to make several changes at Racing. He strengthened the midfield and balanced the actions. However, it remained inoperative in the attack, unable to threaten the defense of the hosts.

With more tranquility Boca maintained the advantage on the scoreboard and confirmed the place in another semifinal of the Libertadores. The other match, which is worth a place in the grand final, is between River Plate and Palmeiras.
