A 19-year-old young man was shot and died last night while working as a cashier in a supermarket in the Tupi neighborhood of Belo Horizonte. The crime occurred around 8:20 pm.
According to the Military Police report, the suspects pretended to be customers and, upon reaching the cashier, announced the assault. CCTV cameras from the supermarket filmed all the action. According to the police, the victim was unable to open the cash register and was shot.
The images show the two suspects in action: one is a 17-year-old teenager and the other a 18-year-old boy. After the crime, the suspects fled with stolen money. Police discovered that a third party, a 29-year-old man, was involved. He reportedly gave the weapon to the minor in exchange for three stolen motorcycles.
Still according to police information, the teenager intended to steal a motorcycle from one of the establishment’s employees, but as a result of a robbery, theft followed by death, the plan failed.
The suspects were found in the 29-year-old man’s home and confessed to the crime. However, the 18-year-old, suspected of shooting the victim, denied having fired.
Officials who witnessed the entire action said the victim did not react to the assault. The cashier was transferred by the PM to the Risoleta Neves Hospital, where he died.
The images of the internal circuit were seized, as well as the murder weapon. The investigation was also called and the Civil Police investigated the case.
