América-MG will have a certain absence for the two commitments against Palmeiras, for the semifinal of the Copa do Brasil. For contractual reasons, forward Léo Passos was banned and did not even travel with the squad to São Paulo, where the two teams open the tie this Wednesday, starting at 9:30 p.m., at Allianz Parque.
Léo Passos signed a loan contract with América-MG until December 2022, the same date on which his commitment to Palmeiras ends. In a clause, the São Paulo team assured that the 20-year-old forward would not face the club until the end of this period.
If Léo Passos chose to climb, América-MG would have to pay a fine of R $ 500 thousand to Palmeiras, according to the loan agreement. The club decided not to spend this amount and removed the athlete from the list.

Léo Passos started at the Ponte Preta base and went to Palmeiras in 2013, at the age of 14. For the alviverde paulista club, the forward was crowned champion of the Brasileirão 2018 and the Copa do Brasil 2019; both trophies for the sub-20 category.
Without a place in Palmeiras, Léo Passos ended up on loan to Londrina in 2019. In January he signed for América-MG, a team in which he played 45 games and scored four goals. The forward has been a reserve nine times in the last ten meetings in which he was available for Lisca.
