João Gabbardo, executive coordinator of the Covid-19 Contingency Center in São Paulo, criticized the crowd of people inside the Guarulhos airport today.

“It is an indescribable scene. There is no way we can explain that the airport administration let what happened yesterday. It is unacceptable that the airlines, which were the most affected, are not planning and taking care of the people I am going to check in.” , started.

The statement was made during a press conference on the new covid-19 restrictions, in which the government put the entire state in the red phase between December 25 and 27 and January 1 to 3.

The doctor also questioned the airlines and asked that the episode be used by society to reflect on the real need to travel during this Christmas season.

“Are you short of people? What’s going on? This should also make it easier for next people to think about whether it is worth taking the risk, during this period, of going to an airport and taking a plane, putting themselves at a huge risk of contamination.” because it is a closed environment in which people were stuck “.

Overcrowding on the beaches

The coordinator refused to allow people to stay long on the beaches.

“What we should not do during this period is get together on the beaches. Do physical activity, ok. Take a walk on the sand, ok. But do that and go home. It is not logical at this time to bring families and more families with umbrella, with chairs, and have a picnic on the beach. Why take that risk? “he asked.

“Informal trade should be avoided”

Gabbardo also addressed concerns about the operation of street businesses across the state.

For him, one suggestion is to “schedule” times so that the concentration of people decreases during the day.

“This informal trade, which here in São Paulo occurs in several places, should be avoided by the people who look for it and by the people who supply products. Who knows, think about making an appointment. Some of these vendors go down the street. Tomorrow, others go in the If you are not careful, sooner or later your activities will be suspended ”, he added.
