A 54-year-old man is suspected of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend by running over a minibus. The case happened this morning in Congonhas, a city 82 kilometers from Belo Horizonte, and caused a commotion in the neighborhood due to the seriousness of the situation.
A video made by residents of the Matriz neighborhood shows the exact moment when the man collided with the house where the victim was, knocking down the wall and the front wall of the building.
After the accident, he still backed up the vehicle and threw it at the residence again. According to the report of the Military Police, two cars and a pole were damaged and a motorcycle was totally lost. Some blocks were without electricity during the morning and the houses next to the accident did not have a landline. Despite the shock, no residents were injured.
The victim told police that she had been under threat from the suspect for a while and therefore ended the courtship. He would not have accepted the end of the relationship and reacted by setting his house on fire this morning.
Not knowing what to do, the 51-year-old woman headed to her daughter’s home. The suspect, who works with the transport of employees of a third company, would have diverted the route and, instead of picking up the employees, he went to Barão de Congonhas street to try to kill his ex-girlfriend. According to the company, he was hired as a driver a month ago and did not show any deviations in behavior during this period.
On the bus, a kind of “guillotine” was found, a blade attached to the seat belt, which would hit him with the impact of the crash. However, the driver only had neck injuries and is not at risk of dying. Forensics also found a gallon inside the minibus, which was seized.
The man was treated by Samu and sent to the Bom Jesus de Congonhas Hospital. Still according to the police, the man will be taken to the police station as soon as he is discharged from the hospital and will be able to answer for the crimes of dangerous driving, qualified damage and attempted murder.
