SÃO FRANCISCO DO SUL – President Jair Bolsonaro said on Monday that there may be corruption in his government due to the large amount of works underway in the country. Despite reaching out to Centrão’s parties to win support in Congress, Bolsonaro denied the existence of political clues in his administration. The statements were made to supporters during the president’s vacation trip to São Francisco do Sul, in Santa Catarina.
– Can there be corruption in the government? Can. Take the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR), for example, it is from Rogério Marinho, there are 20 thousand works in Brazil – Bolsonaro said.

In the conversation, the president tried to deny any kind of political nomination in the government. Recently, the then Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, was dismissed after accusing the Minister of the Government Secretariat, Luiz Eduardo Ramos, responsible for political articulation, of negotiating positions with Centrão. Álvaro Antônio was eventually replaced by Gilson Machado, who previously ran Embratur.
– There is no political indication, right, people. Remember that in the past, every week “a minister like that fell, a party like that appointed the other minister.” That’s it, that’s it – Bolsonaro said on Monday.

Later, the president hinted that he put an end to a corruption scheme in the Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo (Ceagesp) and that he conquered an enemy for it, without naming by name who it would be. Last week, another ruling by the president about the company generated the reaction of the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), discontent for Bolsonaro.
– You think that when a rat’s nest is finished and there is enough, I can get many enemies. (Na) Ceagesp was a few million a month that were diverted. Someone stopped taking it, as a result he became my enemy, Bolsonaro said.
In the same conversation with sympathizers, after some of them complained about stretches of road in the region, Bolsonaro called by video call the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, who spoke about the delivery of works in the state to the sympathizers of the President.

The president has not worn a protective mask in his appointments. When talking to the fans, one of them put the mask on his chin and recommended that others do the same because “if he does not get bored”. Given the increase in cases of the new coronavirus, almost all regions of Santa Catarina are in a very serious situation in the contagion of the disease.
Bolsonaro has been in São Francisco do Sul since last Saturday for a few days off and should remain in the city until next Wednesday. The president is staying at Forte Marechal Luz and in recent days he has kept his private agenda.
This Monday he had a dinner with businessman Luciano Hang, owner of Havan. On the other days, Bolsonaro has been accompanied by the Secretary of Fisheries, Jorge Seif Jr., and by one of his sons, Councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ), on fishing and diving trips.
