The Military Police reported that the suspect himself had called the Integrated Operational Center for Social Defense (Ciodes) and said he had the objective of presenting himself. The military went to Itaúnas and took the man to the police station, and then released him.

UNDERSTAND THE CASE
Cuarassy Medeiros del Nery was shot dead on Friday night (18) at an inn in the Itaúnas district, in Conceição da Barra. In a note sent to the press, the Military Police reported that an employee of the establishment said that the victim, Cuarassy Medeiros Del Nery, and the suspect in the shooting argued in front of the inn.
The shooting suspect, according to the witness, ran to the inn to escape, but the victim went after the man. The witness informed the Military Police that Cuarassy hit the man with his fists and broke a glass. The suspect pulled out a gun and shot Cuarassy, who was killed on the spot. The PM did not report the reason for the fight and the number of shots given to the capoeira master.
Cuarassy’s family questions the witness’s version and assures that the video of the fight prior to the crime, released by A Gazeta, “shows that he did not break a glass with anyone and that they were provoking him.” Also according to the report of the relatives, the two, suspect and victim, were not staying at the inn, but rather ran towards the establishment at the time of the fight. They also claim that there was a physical fight between the teacher and the suspect before the shooting.
The capoeira teacher was a Vitória resident, but she was staying with relatives in Vila de Itaúnas. According to his relatives, Cuarassy spends his months of vacations in Itaúnas doing extra work to supplement his income, such as a drinks stand and selling food to tourists.
According to an uncle of the victim, who asked not to be identified, Cuarassy was a very loved person in the community. “The natives are very fond of him and our family. He was very calm, nothing justifies taking the life of someone so young, “he said.
Cuarassy had two children. The body of the capoeira teacher was sent to the Linhares Medical Legal Institute and was handed over by the family. The Farewell Ceremony took place this Sunday (20), at the Memorial House, located at 170 Misael Pedreira da Silva Street, Santa Lúcia, Vitória. The burial took place at 2:00 p.m., in the Santo Antônio cemetery, in the capital.
