This morning, the Civil Police found the body of the 19-year-old model Lorrayne Damares da Silva, who had been missing since last week in João Pessoa (PB). The body was found in an advanced state of decomposition in a thicket on the banks of the BR-230 highway, about 50 kilometers from the capital Paraíba.
Lorrayne’s ex-boyfriend, identified as Kennedy Ramo Alves, was arrested yesterday by authorities suspected of having committed the crime. When questioned, the man confessed to killing the model and indicated where he had left the body.
According to the Paraíba Civil Police, the young woman was killed by strangulation in a summer house on the north coast of the state, where she was with her ex-boyfriend. To the police, the suspect said that they argued at the scene and that he killed her, leaving the body in a thicket. Later, the man fled to Eunápolis, Bahia, where he was arrested. The suspect is transferred to Paraíba, where he must give a new statement.
As soon as Lorrayne disappeared last week, family and friends started a strong campaign on social media to find her. Last Friday (18), the mother recorded an emotional statement asking for help from anyone who has seen her. The victim and the suspect had known each other for about three years.
