The Department of Internal Affairs of the Military Fire Department will open an administrative investigation procedure against Sergeant Guilherme Marques Filho, accused of harassing a woman in the Taguatinga metro and assaulting a man who tried to defend the victim. The case occurred last Friday (12/18) and was registered at Police Station 12 (Taguatinga Centro).

According to the deputy delegate Elizabeth Frade, the incident was recorded by Jair Akson Reis Canhête, 25 years old. The young man was in the subway when he saw the soldier straighten a woman’s hair. “He intervened in the situation and the fireman threatened to draw his weapon. A subway security guard intervened the moment the victim (Jair) left the scene,” he explains.

The firefighter showed the corporation’s functional portfolio to the metro agents and left the Praça do Relógio station behind Jair. “The victim realized that the military was following him and decided to enter a store. There, the security cameras captured the moment in which the firefighter, with the weapon in hand, slapped the victim,” he explains.

In addition to the physical assault and the threat of a gun in hand, Guilherme yelled at the establishment, cursing the victim of the “tramp.”

The video was first posted on social media by Jair’s sister. The material went viral and was republished by various people and public figures, such as district deputy Fábio Félix.

“The case is being investigated and, this week, all those involved will be called to give testimony and clarify the facts,” concludes delegate Elizabeth Frade.

The Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) investigates the store’s security cameras and then prosecutes the suspect.
