Six victims, including a girl, only 4 years old, were injured in the serious accident that involved three vehicles on Avenida Cônsul Assaf Trad, on the afternoon of this Friday (18), in Campo Grande. Two of them are in serious condition. Due to the accident, a great congestion was formed in the avenue. There is a suspicion that the accident occurred during a crack bet, however the dynamics of the collision will continue to be investigated by the police.
The accident occurred when an Astra model vehicle, heading towards Shopping Bosque dos Ipês, collided with a Mitsubishi L200 pickup that was making a U-turn on the avenue. With the force of the impact, the truck overturned and came to a side in the middle of the runway.
Various objects found on the body of the vehicle, including beer cans, were scattered around the track.
In the van were two adults and a girl, only 4 years old, who was thrown from the vehicle. Despite the shock, the boy is fine. Carlos Alberto Barbosa da Costa, driver of the truck, suspects that the vehicles were betting crack.
“I entered the avenue and we did not see these two cars, I think they were betting a split,” he said.
Faced with the collision, the driver of a Vectra, who was also heading in the same direction, lost control of the direction, invaded the central work and overturned a pole. The driver of the vehicle, still unidentified, was taken to the hospital in serious condition in an alpha vehicle of Samu (Mobile Emergency Service).
Astra, on the other hand, was driven by Anderson Ferreira da Silva, 27, who had as a passenger his brother, 31, who was also seriously injured. Anderson claims that the driver of the van would have invaded the prime. The front of the Astra was completely destroyed.
According to the Fire Department, the 6 victims were sent to Santa Casa de Campo Grande. Two of them in serious condition, who are the driver of the Vectra and the passenger of the Astra. The girl was also taken to the hospital because she complained of a headache.
Due to the accident on the runway on Avenida Cônsul Assaf Trad, the stores were closed after the accident, creating congestion that, until the publication of the report, was already approaching Terminal Nova Bahia. After the accident there was a fuel leak, however a tractor is being used to dump sand at the site.
