BRASÍLIA – Minister Carmen Lúcia, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) investigate whether the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) produced reports to guide the defense of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ ) in the investigation of “cracks”. The case was revealed last week by the magazine “Época”.
Time: Flávio Bolsonaro’s lawyer refused to follow Ramage’s recommendations in the reports
According to the minister, the facts “at least in theory, may constitute criminal and administratively relevant acts (fraud, administrative defense, violation of functional confidentiality, crime of responsibility and administrative impropriety)”. Cármen Lúcia made the decision after a request from the Rede Sustentabilidade for the facts to be investigated.
At the minister’s request, Abin and the Office of Institutional Security (GSI) presented information on the case to the Supreme Court last Tuesday. In a letter, Abin’s CEO Alexandre Ramagem denied that the agency had issued any reports to help the senator’s defense.
Ramage asked to have access to the documents mentioned by the magazine “Época” in the report that showed the alleged use of the agency to favor the son of the President of the Republic. The intention is to show that the material was not produced or issued by Abin. “The agency did not issue the intelligence reports referred to in the matter, nor any document related to the matter,” says the text sent to the Supreme Court.

Also in a document sent to the STF, the GSI minister, Augusto Heleno, affirmed that the action presented to the STF is politically motivated and aims to achieve the honor of the people cited in the report. The minister confirmed that he participated in a meeting of President Jair Bolsonaro with the defense of Flávio and Ramage to discuss the case of the crackers. According to Heleno, realizing that the case was not related to Institutional Security, he ruled out the possibility of involving GSI and Abin in the matter.
According to a report from the magazine “Época”, Abin, linked to the GSI, prepared at least two reports to guide Flavio Bolsonaro’s lawyers on what should be done to obtain the documents that support a request for annulment of the case “ cracked ”. Flavio is investigated for having participated in the scheme when he was a state deputy in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj). The then adviser Fabrício Queiroz is suspected of being the operator of the scheme.
