The government launched on Wednesday morning (12/16) the National Plan for the Operationalization of the Vaccine against covid-19. During the ceremony at the Palácio do Planalto, the character of the childhood vaccination campaigns against polio, Zé Gotinha, was also present and was a topic on social networks when he avoided a handshake from President Jair Bolsonaro.
When he saw the pet coming towards him, the president held out his hand, but instead of returning the gesture, Zé Gotinha made a positive sign. Then the agent walked over and patted the character on the back.
Another fact that attracted attention was that the character was one of the few who wore the mask at the event, amidst a crowd of ministers, governors and parliamentarians.
Soft tone
Even during the event, Bolsonaro adopted a soft tone and said that if there were “extrapolations or exaggerations” it was to find a solution to the problem of the pandemic that plagues the world.
After questioning the efficacy and safety of the immunizers and demanding the signing of a term of responsibility for those who took them, the representative stated that he is “twinned” with governors and that the Plan launched this Wednesday, which includes CoronaVac, is the best alternative against the pandemic.
“I’m not going to get a vaccine, period”
On Tuesday, the president of the Executive said again that “he will not receive the vaccine, period.” “I, Jair Bolsonaro, am not against the vaccine. But I am totally in favor of this treatment that we have in Brazil. I cannot speak as a citizen of one thing and as president of another. But, as always, I never escaped the I tell you, I’m not going to get a vaccine. And that’s it. If someone thinks my life is at risk, it’s my problem. And that’s it, “he said.
Bolsonaro stated that one of the burdens of immunization is that the vaccine must be applied again after a while. He also argued that those who do not wish to receive the vaccine should have their options respected.
