“I have to sign tomorrow a provisional measure of R $ 20 billion to buy a vaccine,” Bolsonaro said in a conversation with supporters at the door of the Planalto Palace. The president also said that another MP will be signed that establishes the need to sign a term of responsibility for people who want to be vaccinated.

“There is another provisional measure, perhaps tomorrow. It is not mandatory, you will have to sign a term of responsibility to take. Because Pfizer, for example, is very clear in the contract: ‘we are not responsible for side effects,'” he amended.

The amount cited by Bolsonaro is about ten times higher than that released for the purchase of the Oxford vaccine, in which the government disbursed R $ 1.9 billion.

Even in the conversation with supporters, Bolsonaro stressed that the person who decides to take the vaccine will be responsible. “There are people who want to take it, so take it, it is your responsibility. If there is a problem there, I hope it is not like that,” he said.

“Those who are physically well do not have to worry too much. Now the concern is for the sick, the elderly and the chubby,” Bolsonaro added.
