Brazil has 180,552 deaths and 6,843,232 confirmed cases of coronavirus until 1 pm this Saturday (12), according to the consortium of press vehicles.
- Deaths: 180,552
- Cases: 6,843,232
The latest consolidated balance sheet of the consortium, released at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, recorded 180,453 deaths (652 of them confirmed in the 24 hours prior to the balance) and 6,836,313 confirmed cases (52,770 of them in the previous 24 hours). Since then, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Tocantins have published new data.
Cases and deaths are on the rise
Brazil faces an upward trend in both cases and deaths. The moving average of new deaths is 639 per day, which means that, on average, 639 new deaths were confirmed per day in the last 7 days. The figure represents a 25% increase compared to two weeks ago.
The upward trend occurs in 20 of the 27 federative units: PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, MS, MT, AC, AP, RO, RR, TO, BA, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE, depending on the consortium (see the variations in the graphics below).
The moving average of new cases is 43,052, 27% more in 2 weeks.
- Total deaths: 180,453
- 24-hour death record: 652
- Average number of new deaths in the last 7 days: 639 (change in 14 days: + 25%)
- Total confirmed cases: 6,836,313
- Registry of confirmed cases in 24 hours: 52,770
- Average number of new cases in the last 7 days: 43,052 per day (variation over 14 days: + 27%)
- Above (19 states + the DF): PR, RS, SC, ES, MG, SP, DF, MS, MT, AC, AP, RO, RR, TO, BA, PB, PE, PI, RN and SE
- In stability, that is, the number of deaths did not decrease or increase significantly (4 states): RJ, GO, PA and AL
- Fall (3 states): AM, CE and MA
This comparison takes into account the average number of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance compared to the average recorded two weeks ago (understand the criteria that G1 uses to analyze pandemic trends).
It is worth mentioning that there are states in which the low average number of deaths can generate large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

Consortium of press vehicles
Data on cases and deaths from coronavirus in Brazil were obtained after an unprecedented association between G1, O Globo, Extra, O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo and UOL, which began to work, from June 8, in a collaborative way to collect the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District (know plus).
